"I am fortunate... that Linda has been to my classroom many times... amazing things happen when Linda develops skills children may have but are not tapping into. Her workshop helps students paint their ideas with words. Stories and feelings dance. It is exciting...to have students ask for more writing time. As a seasoned teacher, I use the skills learned from her visits every year. Thank you Linda for the ideas and skills!"

  • In this onsite course, we teach creative writing techniques to students as early as fifth grade. This workshop is well suited for private and public K-12 institutions as well as technical and community colleges. This five-hour workshop provides an age-appropriate overview of the physiology of the brain as it relates to the mechanics of transferring thought to paper. The students are then taught the techniques designed to record and expand the scope of their ideas.
  •
  • This workshop engages the enthusiasm of the students in a rapid series of exercises and visualizations that help them master these simple, yet powerful techniques. Classroom teachers have found the techniques easy to continue as part of their writing curriculum.
  •
  • Two weeks prior to the workshop, the instructor contacts the classroom teacher to discuss the workshop. Our primary goal at To Write Well is to integrate the goals of the workshop with the teacher's curriculum. Students benefit the most when the workshop is coordinated with the start of a project that requires researching a topic, taking notes, creating a draft of the paper, revising and polishing.
  •
  • AUDIENCE: Excellent for classroom instruction, fifth grade or higher. Can be taught in two sessions: first session, three hours; second session, two hours no later than one week apart.
  •
  • Discounts available for multiple sessions.
